SUMMER IS COMING. Quick pass me the sunscreen! No, seriously I don’t think it is legal to have as fair as skin as I do living in Queensland.
Which is why I’m escaping the tropical state with a group of girlfriends and heading down to Byron Bay in New South Wales for the Labour Day long weekend. Hopefully I’ll blend in with the many British tourists that set up camp in the beach loving, hippie filled town.
We are driving down from Brisbane and as the driver I’m definitely playing only songs related to driving and the beach, and possibly getting high – it is Byron Bay after all. We are also ‘flashpacking’ at the Byron Beach Resort, because you can’t slum it too much in your own country – especially when your home is 2 hours away. On the agenda is some much needed sand time, ocean kayaking with dolphins and plenty of drinking at the locally recommended Beach Hotel and famous backpackers bar Cheeky Monkeys.
So stay tuned for my review on Byron Bay as a girls trip destination.
